Q: It looked to the viewers like Jake was going, what happened at Tribal Council?
PR: I definitely got the double-whammy! Once Ken was gone and we realized there was no chance we were getting rid of Ted, Jake and I had a conversation, and we thought it was in our best interests to separate ourselves and try to work alliances with the other Chuay Gahn members so one of us could hopefully be a contender for the million dollar prize.
Q: Yet in the clip we just saw, Jake really had his feelings hurt and didn't know why you snuffed his torch. Didn't you tell him you'd be gunning for him?
PR: Well, my plan was not to be gunning for him in the beginning. I mean, I was sitting with Clay having a conversation, and Clay told me flat out, "You need to vote Jake off in order to secure yourself 3 more days on this island. There's a couple of people out here who are worried about you, and a few of us want to vote Jake off, so you need to vote Jake off in order to stay." So when someone tells you that, you believe them.
Q: Oh Penny, you can't believe anything anyone tells you out there!
PR: (laughs) Oh, I know, but ... you're deprived of food, you're not thinking clearly, you want anything that sounds good, I guess!
Q: What caused them to vote for you instead of Jake?
PR: Possibly what you just heard Ted saying. (in the clip: "She's working her Southern charm on Brian and Clay, we need to vote her out")I was really fitting in well with the Chuay Gahn tribe, and I hadn't done anything or said anything wrong to anybody to cause up any stir, so I think a few of them got a little worried about possibly me taking a position over them in their own tribe.
Q: But you were working Brian and Clay pretty good!
PR: Well, I was trying to get to know everybody. You know, after ShiiAnn pretty much damaged my character altogether, I pretty much needed to get to know these people better.
Q: Did you and ShiiAnn ever have a chance to patch things up, because it seems like there's still quite a bit of animosity there.
PR: There definitely is animosity. You know, I think it's one thing to say to the cameras "Penny's my biggest threat out there," but it's another thing to accuse me of being manipulative, which I never was to her, so that was pretty hurtful to hear.
Q: Being on the jury will be interesting, with 3 Sook Jai members so far, you're going to have a lot of influence on the vote.
PR: That's right! It's very exciting, power is a good thing right now!
Q: So how do you make a choice as the rest of the shows play out, what will you be watching for to make a decision?
PR: Well for me personally, it's gonna be: Who are the final 2, and how did they influence my position out there for those 30 days, you know, how did they treat me? And I think that's gonna be a big... (stumbling, she's being careful)...possibility...on how I make my vote.
Q: How did you think you were portrayed on the show?
PR: I think I was portrayed very accurately, I think if you go back to the episode where ShiiAnn was voted out, she made a lot of accusations about me personally, but you never saw the cameras backing that up. So that was kinda hard to see, and to see Ted rolling his eyes at me a few times, and rolling them at Jake last night, I just don't think that's necessary, I guess.
Q: You've had some excitement in your life since returning from Thailand, you got married?
PR: Yes, I got married Labor Day weekend.
Q: Any Survivors at the wedding?
PR: Yes, we had Jake, and we had Jed, Erin and Clay. Everybody was invited.
